SCBT Financial Corp. has named Wachovia veteran Donnie Pickett as its chief financial officer, the Columbia bank said Monday.
Pickett will assume CFO responsibilities from John Pollok, who had been both SCBT's chief operating officer and chief financial officer since 2007.
"Donnie has the skills and experience we need to support our continued growth," SCBT chief executive Robert Hill Jr. said. "He will be a great addition to our team. This move will also allow John Pollok the time to focus on helping our company take advantage of the opportunities in the market place as COO."
Pickett spent 12 years with Price Waterhouse in Raleigh and New York before joining Wachovia in Winston-Salem, N.C., in 1995; he managed corporate accounting and internal auditing for finance.
Most recently, he managed the internal audit group for Wells Fargo's wealth, brokerage and retirement businesses. Wells Fargo bought Wachovia in 2008.
SCBT is the second-largest bank in the Midlands, based on deposits.
