Teresa Arnold has been named state director for AARP South Carolina. She previously served the association as legislative director, during which time she initiated a grassroots campaign to increase home and community-based services for the elderly. Arnold also previously served as the director of governmental affairs at the S.C. Department of Social Services. As a key agency leader in that role, she represented the agency before the South Carolina legislature and managed the budget process. In addition, she received the 2006 Wings of Caring award from the S.C. Adult Day Services Association, the 2007 NASW Social Worker of the Year award, the 2011 South Carolina Patient Advocate of the Year award and the 2013 University of South Carolina College of Social Work Alumna of the Year award.
