Marshalls opens Columbia store
Marshalls opened its new Columbia store Thursday in the Rosewood Crossing shopping center on Jackson Boulevard.
The 24,000-square-foot store, which replaces the previous Parklane Road location, includes The Cub, described as a “hip, in-store” boutique, and a shoe mega-shop.
It joins PetSmart pet superstore and a Michael’s craft store in the strip mall, which was refurbished by developer Bright-Meyers. The company’s brochure on the center also lists Bottles, a wine, beer and liquor superstore, and well as smaller tenants.
The hours for Marshalls is 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The redevelopment continues a revitalization on the southeast side of Columbia into an upgraded shopping corridor around Devine Street/Garners Ferry Road. The Cross Hill Market, anchored by a Whole Foods grocery, opened in 2012 just a short distance away. Two new restaurants – Smashburger and Moe’s Southwest Grill – also opened on Devine Street.
The corridor largely was formed by Edens – a major East Coast shopping center developer based in Columbia. The corridor links three Edens’ centers: the Target-anchored Shoppes at Woodhill on Garners Ferry, the Cross Hill Market and Trenholm Plaza on Forest Drive at Trenholm Road.
