A prime piece of commercial real estate located at the Killian Road and I-77 intersection in Columbia has sold for $3.1 million to the Jim Hudson Automotive Group, which will expand its brand there next year.
NAI Avant represented the seller — Seven Acre Cut LLC — of the development site at the intersection across from Super Walmart. The site consists of 26 acres of partially developed land, which had previously been slated for multiple big box users, according to NAI Avant.
Keith Hudson, president and owner of Jim Hudson Buick GMC Cadillac, told The State a portion of the property will be used for the construction of Jim Hudson’s Audi dealership. The dealer plans to relocate Audi of Columbia from 6301 Two Notch Road to the Killian Road site. Construction is expected to begin in July 2017, Hudson said.
The automotive group already owns dealerships near the intersection that sell the Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Lexus brands.
Dance academy grand opening to benefit Epworth
Columbia has an opportunity to welcome a new business and support a worthy cause at the same time when Elite Ballroom Academy celebrates its official grand opening at 3512 Bush River Road on Dec. 17.
The event will include a Christmas showcase of music and dance with Columbia-area dance professionals from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The proceeds will benefit Epworth Children’s Home.
Owned by dance instructor and Columbia native Jamie Barrett, the ballroom and dance academy was originally located at 1830 N. Lake Dr. in Lexington and was called The Dam Ballroom because of its proximity to the Lake Murray Dam. Barrett, a graduate of Spring Valley High School, began her dancing career in 2007 and began instructing in 2009.
Group classes are held at 7 p.m. each Thursday at Elite, and private lessons are available by appointment.
Tickets for Elite’s grand opening Christmas showcase are $25 and can be purchased at http://www.ticketor.com/eliteballroom/default.
