The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle collision that left a driver dead early Sunday morning.
At 12:45 a.m., 26-year-old Joshua Dawkins, the driver of a 2010 Toyota pickup truck was driving northbound on Longtown Road in Kershaw County when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, said Lance Cpl. Matt Southern. Dawkins wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck, sustaining fatal injuries, said Southern.
The incident remains under investigation.
