A 28-year-old Georgia man drowned in Lake Russell after he fell off and the boat he was on ran over him.
“He was standing up in the boat, and the indications are that he was told to sit down. The boat slowed down, and he fell off, and the boat ran over him,” said Lt Robert McCullough of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
McCullough identified the man as Brad Seawright of Hartwell, Ga.
Seawright fell off the boat Saturday afternoon. DNR officials and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department searched until dark.
When the searched resumed this morning, divers from DNR found the body about 10:30 a.m., McCullough said.
