Volunteers will meet Sept. 26 to finish clearing a section of Gills Creek, below Shop Road, in Columbia.
The cleanup, which began Aug. 1, involves clearing debris and picking up trash to make the creek more accessible to kayaks and canoes.
Volunteers will meet on Shop Road, close to the bridge over the creek, near the city animal shelter.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The efforts are being coordinated by the Gills Creek Watershed Association and the Congaree Riverkeeper. For details, see www.gillscreekwatershed.com.
