ANDERSON - A South Carolina man faces charges in the death of a couple whose bodies were found several days after they were reported missing.
Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper said Thursday that Matthew Fulbright of Belton has been arrested in the deaths of 72-year-old Homer Staton and JoAnn Staton, who was in her late 60s. Homer Staton was found beaten to death Sunday in Anderson County. Authorities said Thursday they found his wife's body in a rural part of the county.
The Taylors couple had been missing since Oct. 23.
Investigators say a man lured the couple by telling them that he could arrange a meeting with someone selling or buying jewelry. Homer Staton was retired but traveled the state, buying and selling jewelry.
Skipper say investigators think robbery was the initial motive.
