Upstate WWII vets fly to see war monuments

GREENVILLE - About 85 World War II veterans planned a whirlwind trip to Washington to see some war monuments.

Honor Flight Upstate took the veterans from Greenville to the nation's capital Wednesday.

The group planned to visit the World War II, Vietnam, Korean and Marine Corps war memorials. They also are scheduled to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.

Honor Flight Upstate is a volunteer group that seeks to honor World War II veterans.
