Former Floyd aide to lobby for Lexington

    ORDER REPRINT →

December 10, 2009 12:00 AM

Lexington has picked a former aide to the late U.S. Rep. Floyd Spence as its federal lobbyist.

Town Council gave initial approval this week to hiring Craig Metz for the role through June 30 at a cost of up to $40,000. Metz works at the Nelson Mullins Washington office.

Such help is vital to help secure federal aid for road and utility projects, town leaders said.

A final vote on the money for Metz is set for June 4.
