Kara Gormley, the co-anchor of WIS-10’s “Sunrise” broadcast, is leaving the station at the end of the month, Donita Todd, the station’s general manager, confirmed.
“WIS offered Kara a new contract, but we could not come to terms, and she will be leaving WIS when her current agreement expires at the end of June,” Todd said.
Gormley, who could not be reached for comment, has worked at WIS for almost 15 years. She began in 1996 as a “Sunrise” co-host. She briefly worked at a Raleigh station before returning to WIS in 2002. She currently co-hosts “Sunrise” with Stewart Moore.
A replacement for Gormley could be named as early as next week.
