Columbia police, Friday, arrested 38-year-old Brian Everett Pringle for the robbery of two convenience stores earlier in the day.
Police say Pringle approached the checkout counters of the Li’l Cricket at 2715 on Main Street around 3:00pm, and the Gaz-Bah Mini Shop at 6201 Farrow Road about an hour later, as if to make a purchase. In each instance, when the clerk opened the register drawer, Pringle allegedly reached across the counter to grab cash from the register, wrestling with the clerk and making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
The clerks told police that the robber drove off in a black Saturn, which was spotted abandoned at the City Food Mart on North Main.
Pringle was taken into custody without incident during a search of a neighborhood less than a mile away off Farrow Road. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
