Citizens Against the Tax Increase will host a forum Sept. 27 on Richland County’s proposal for a penny-on-the-dollar sales tax for transportation.
The session is at 7 p.m. in the recreation center of North Springs Park, 1320 Clemson Road, in northeast Richland County.
At the meeting, the group will explain its opposition to the proposal, which would raise the county sales tax to 8 percent to pay for road projects along with public transit, bike lanes, sidewalks and trails.
“People need to be able to hear both sides, not just the county’s side,” organizer Barbara Wyatt said in a news release.
