People who want to use Columbia Parks and Recreation facilities now are required to show a photo ID and complete a registration form, which includes emergency contact information.
“It’s important that we know who is visiting our facilities, how often and what programs are most popular,” said recreation superintendent Randy Davis. “The information collected will be used to design and schedule recreation programs.”
The registration form is similar to forms used to sign-up for city athletic and other recreation programs. The new registration procedure applies to Emily Douglas Park, 2500 Wheat St.; Edisto Discovery Park and Neighborhood Center, 1914 Wiley St.; Greenview Park and Pool, 6700 David St.; Hampton Park, 800 Abelia Road; Heathwood Park, 800 Abelia Road; Hyatt Park, 950 Jackson Ave.; Martin Luther King Park, 2300 Green St.; Lorick Park, 1600 Lorick Ave.; Melrose Park, 1500 Fairview Road; Pacific Park, 200 Wayne St.; Pinehurst Park, 2315 Pinehurst Road; St. Anna’s Park, 1315 Liberty Hill Ave.; Sims Park, 3500 Duncan St.; Woodland Park, 6500 Olde Knight Parkway.
