The Belser arboretum near Columbia’s Shandon neighborhood will be open from 1-4 p.m. Sunday for its monthly open house.
Fall colors will be near their height, and workers have finished clearing and planting a two-acre newly restored wetland in a low-lying section of the arboretum.
Gates to the nine-acre tract are located along Bloomwood Road and Wilmot Avenue. The site is just off Kilbourne Road, near the Piggly Wiggly grocery store on Devine Street.
