Cayce got the OK from state health officials Tuesday afternoon to start their water plant pumping again, according to assistant city manager Tammy Barkley.
Residents on Cayce water no longer need to cut back on their non-essential water use.
The plant was taken out of production last week for fear pollution from runoff during a fire at a nearby plastics recycling plant would end up in the water supply. The city got word late Tuesday that the nearby sections of the Congaree River had passed water quality tests conducted by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, Barkley said.
