Lexington Co. road closing for repairs

Calks Ferry Road between Barr Road and Smith Pond Road in central Lexington County will be closed to traffic for repairs on a bridge over Twelve Mile Creek starting Monday.

Work is expected to be completed by July 3.

The road is midway between Lexington and Gilbert.

Motorists traveling in the area will be redirected along Barr and Smith Pond roads. Signs will mark the detour.

The collisions occurred early Monday on I-20 westbound and eastbound in Lexington, at exit 61 to U.S. 378 and West Columbia, and at I-26. There were no injuries.
