What new business is being planned beside Lexington High School? What we know
A growing convenience store chain known for its food offerings is planning a new location in Lexington near a major high school, county records show.
Parker’s Kitchen, which has more than 100 stores across parts of South Carolina and Georgia, is planning a store at 2509 Augusta Highway, per Lexington County Planning Commission documents in recent months. It was listed in the commercial projects section of the commission’s agendas in February and March, and the April agenda showed landscape permits had been obtained for the project.
Land clearing work at the 2509 Augusta Highway site was going on when a reporter rode by Monday morning, with heavy equipment on the property. The site is located just to the west of Lexington High School, and is next door to a Sonic Drive-In restaurant.
