A man was shot while breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s residence early Sunday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the incident at about 4:30 a.m. at a residence on Bent Tree Lane, not far from Broad River Road.
Investigators found that the suspect had forced his way into the home through a window, according to the sheriff’s department. An acquaintance of the victim shot the suspect in the upper body, officials said.
The suspect was transported to Palmetto Health Richland after the incident.
