Traffic opens I-77 after tractor trailer crash; another occurs on I-26

UPDATE:

Columbia Fire officials are reporting two lanes of traffic have opened up on Interstate 77 at exit 24 near to Wilson Boulevard.

While first responders are at the site of the wreck clearing the scene, troopers are also at the scene of a second tractor trailer crash on Interstate 26 at mile marker 95 near White Rock.

The wreck was reported before noon Tuesday.

Troopers are reporting debris spilled onto the road and are advising motorists to use alternate routes.

A crash early Tuesday morning has blocked all lanes of traffic on Interstate 77 northbound.

Crews with State Highway Patrol and Columbia Fire Department are working to clear a tractor trailer that overturned at 7:22 a.m. at exit 24 to Wilson Boulvard, according to officials.

Photos from the scene showed the tractor trailer on its side block all northbound lanes of traffic.

As of 11:30 a.m., all lanes of northbound traffic were closed.

SC Department of Transportation’s traffic map showed heavy traffic delays in northbound lanes and some in southbound lanes of I-77 near the exit.

Troopers reported the truck was loaded with blocks of aluminum.
