Kershaw County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after a chase ended with a pickup truck crashing into a ditch.
Corbin Reese Bailey, 20, has been charged with failure to stop for a blue light, driving under the influence, driving under suspension and grand larceny, according to deputies.
The chase is the fourth in two weeks in which Kershaw deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit.
Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning, deputies said. The owner of the stolen vehicle was able to follow it and report the location to authorities.
The stolen truck was later intercepted by police on Old Georgetown Road. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but Bailey fled from authorities, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The chase, which reached speeds of 70 miles per hour, lasted less than five minutes on rural roads and ended when Bailey lost control and crashed into a ditch, deputies said.
