A Lexington man was arrested in connection with a break-in at home under construction.
Eric Anderson Nickels, 30, of Secret Cove Drive, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant that detectives obtained for on a charge of second-degree burglary., the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday.
An arrest warrant alleges that at about 2:25 a.m. Friday, the suspect unlawfully entered a home under construction on Spillway Boulevard, with the intent to steal items from the residence, Sheriff Lewis McCarty said. A deputy who was patrolling the area in his marked patrol car found the suspect inside the home’s garage.
The arrest warrant further alleges that deputies found numerous burglary tools in a white 2013 Nissan Rogue crossover vehicle that the suspect drove to the Spillway Boulevard home, McCarty said. Deputies also found a cordless Dewalt oscillating saw in the vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Spillway Boulevard home.
Nickels was being held at the county jail.
