A 28-year-old man is under arrest, accused of hitting two pedestrians and a child as they walked along Two Notch Road Monday.
Antwan Dwight Goode is charged with three counts of hit and run, three counts of failure to give information and fender aid, driving on sdewalk, driving under suspension, failure to return license plate and registration upon loss of insurance, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
Good turned himself in at police headquarters Monday night.
According to police, a man and a woman were walking along the southbound sidewalk on Two Notch Road near Windover Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday. One of the adults was holding a 1-year-old child.
The suspecst who was also traveling south, is accused of running off the road, driving on the sidewalk, and hitting the victims, police said. After the incident, the suspect allegedly drove away from the scene.
Several passers-by stopped to assist the victims before EMS arrived. The victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Columbia police found the suspect’s abandoned vehicle at Bronx Street and Beltline Boulevard shortly after the incident.
Goode was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
