Richland County Sheriff's Department officials have closed the investigation regarding an alleged assault at Spring Valley High School.
Lt. Curtis Wilson said Wednesday morning there were no warrants drawn and no charges will be filed regarding the investigation.
Wilson said on Monday there was an alleged assault between a faculty member and a student on Jan. 8, but he could not provide any other information regarding the incident.
Libby Roof said after learning the sheriff’s department closed its investigation, Richland 2 officials and Spring Valley administrators began an internal investigation.
Roof said the employee has been placed on administrative leave while the district conducts its investigation. It was not immediately known whether the leave is paid or unpaid.
Roof would not release any details about the employee's identity or discuss any other details about the incident.
