Business owner, others arrested in motorcycle thefts

Authorities are trying to figure out why three motorcycles and a stolen utility trailer turned up at a Platt Springs Road motorcycle business.

Police arrested Marion Sherome Haney, 40, of Lexington, Demetrius Holman, 29, of Ladson and Drain Maurice Mazone, of Irmo, at M&M Customs, said Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts.

Mazone, who owns M&M Customs, was charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods.

Lexington county detectives charged M&M employee Haney, also wanted by Horry County police on charges of operating a chop shop, with one count of receiving stolen goods.

Holman, who told deputies he was a freelance mechanic, was charged with one count of receiving stolen goods.

A 2005 Yamaha R-6 motorcycle, two 2006 Suzuki 600 motorcycles, reported stolen from North Carolina and a Haulmark utility trailer all reported stolen from North Charleston, were found at the business, Lott said.
