At least two South Carolina Electric and Gas customers have reported a man trying to collect cash for their power bill at their home.
SCE&G, which provides power to most of the midlands, said in a news release that the company does not collect money in the field for any reason.
To report a scam, customers can call SCE&G customer service at (800) 251-7234. The company urged customers to dial 911 if they feel threatened.
