An Irmo-area man will be honored today for helping three others subdue a man who police say assaulted and tried to carjack five motorists March 23 on Nursery Road, according to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Bob Wolff, 55, will receive a certificate of appreciation from Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts, according to the release.

Wolff helped subdue Jerodrick Whitis, 20, of Wilton Hill Road, who faces three counts of carjacking, two counts of attempted robbery, and one count each of strong arm robbery and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, the release said.
