U.S. deputy marshals have arrested an Ohio murder suspect with Midlands ties.
Santi Gripper, 35, is suspected of shooting and killing Robert Davis, 29, in early September in Columbus, according to media reports.
He was arrested today.
Gripper is wanted in Richland County for a June 2006 armed robbery. The robbery took place at his former workplace, Econo Auto Painting, where Gripper is accused of forcing a manager at gun point to give him his paycheck. Authorities at that time believed Gripper was trying to leave the state to avoid child support obligations, according to a statement from the sheriff’s department.
Investigators have connected Gripper to Kershaw County and Omega Drive in the Woodfield Park community, as well as the states of Texas and Ohio.
