Swansea teen accused of sexually assaulting 3-year-old

State agents have arrested a Swansea teenager accused of performing sex acts on a toddler.

Joseph Anthony Jett, 18, of Swansea, is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and lewd act on a child under the age of 16.

According to arrest warrants, Jett, was 16 years old at the time; the victim was 3.

The warrants indicate the child recently told a trained child forensic investigator with the State Law Enforcement Division about the abuse.

The alleged assault happened between the dates of July 26, 2006 and July 26, 2007, at a Swansea home.

Second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor is a felony punishable for up to 20 years in prison.

Lewd act on a child under the age of 16 is a felony punishable up to 10 years in prison.

The child is in the care of family members.
