Child, 7, held at gunpoint in Columbia home invasion

A 7-year-old was held at gunpoint and his Christmas gifts taken during a home invasion Thursday, the Columbia Police Department is reporting.

Columbia police were called to a home in the 2400 block of Gervais Street at about 7 a.m.

Investigators say a 7-year-old had just left his home when two men forced the youngster back inside at gunpoint.

The child and two other people were forced to lie down on the floor while one of the men searched through the home.

Both of the men then fled on foot, having taken several items from the home including the child's Christmas gifts.

The man are described as between 18 and 24 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. They were wearing dark colored hoodies, blue jeans and white shoes.
