MYRTLE BEACH -- Police say a Conway man stabbed his two children before leading authorities on a chase that ended in Marion County.
Tommy Lee Humes, 42, was charged today with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill after he was arrested Sunday, Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said. Humes is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
Horry County police received a 911 call at 10:30 a.m. that a man had stabbed his two children on Beatlegeous Drive in Conway, Kegler said. When police arrived the man was gone, but his vehicle was found a short time later and the chase began.
Police chased Humes into Marion County, where a standoff ensued for several hours, Kegler said.
