Teens charged in Northeast ATM robberies

Two teenagers -- a 10th-grader and a 12th-grader -- have been arrested in connection with a string of robberies at ATMs in Northeast Richland, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.

Charges stem from four of the seven similar reported ATM robberies since January in the Northeast.

Lott said the motive was simply to take money.

Officers were able to link the suspects to the robberies after a victim followed a truck that was seen driving away.

Anthony Shy, 18, and Clinton Matthews, 17, are both charged with four counts of armed robbery.

Both are students at Spring Valley High School.
