A Gaston man has been charged with murder in the death of another man who was shot outside an auction house.
Sidney Allen Hursey, 66, was arrested Wednesday in the shooting of 37-year-old Christopher Michael Reese, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Reese and his girlfriend lived in a room at Cowboy’s Auction on Busby Road in Gaston, the sheriff’s department said. Hursey owned the auction business.
Hursey and Reese got into an argument Tuesday outside the business. Hursey allegedly shot Reese with a handgun, the sheriff’s department said.

A woman who lives at Hursey’s home called police, who found Reese’s body on the ground beside his Ford Bronco.
Police are still investigating the cause of the argument and the motive behind the shooting.
A bond hearing has not been scheduled for Hursey.
