Police: Men used Craiglist in robberies

Two people have been charged in connection with two robberies using Craigslist, the Richland County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.

Albert M. Givens, 22, was charged with strong-armed robbery and armed robbery, and Terrelle George, 20, was charged with armed robbery in the incidents, according to the department. Both were being held Tuesday at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

According to police reports, the victim in the first incident agreed to meet a man about a cell phone sale on Craigslist. The victim was handed a bag with a broken phone at that time, and the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled on foot.

In the second incident, according to reports, another victim agreed to meet the same suspect about a cell phone upgrade on Craig's List. Authorities say he approached the victim's vehicle while a second man got into the passenger's side.

The victim, who had a knife held to his throat, was robbed of a cell phone, MP3 player and wallet.

All of the stolen items were later recovered, authorities said.
