Columbia interim Police Chief Randy Scott has promoted a veteran officer from within to be his third in command.
Capt. Isa P. Greene will become deputy chief over administration, Scott said. Her primary duty will be running the department’s investigations bureau. She also will supervise homeland security and administration.
Greene, a 31-year veteran, has served as commander of the city’s metro region. While in that position, she has overseen a reduction in the crime rate, Scott said.
Scott praised Greene’s experience in the department and her firm grasp of police work. "She can tell you everything that goes on in her area," he said.

"This is a 24-hour-a-day job here," she said.
