NORTH CHARLESTON - Louis Wright, the 18-month-old boy who was allegedly abused by three teenagers last week, was showing signs of improvement Saturday.
He remained in the pediatric intensive care unit at Medical University Hospital, but his condition was upgraded from critical to serious, said Sharlene Atkins, a hospital spokeswoman.
Louis was hospitalized Tuesday after his mother noticed he was not responsive and sought medical help.
Three teenage boys are accused of abusing him at a North Charleston home Monday night. His mother is accused of having allowed the abuse to take place. All four were in custody Saturday.
