A woman pleaded guilty in federal court this week to stealing more than $650,000 from her employer and spending the money on plastic surgery, among other things, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Robin Newman Maner, 43, of Blythewood, was convicted of wire fraud and faces up to 30 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Maner, who has several aliases, was working as a bookkeeper for a group of medical doctors in Columbia from June 2004 to July 2009. In that time, she stole $672,433.65 from her employer and used two credit cards to make unauthorized purchases, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said, adding she spent money on cruises and buying jewelry, electronics and furniture and plastic surgery.
Her sentencing will be at a later date.
