Columbia police raided a house in the Amherst neighborhood off Devine Street on Friday afternoon and confiscated illegal drugs, several high-powered weapons -- including an AK-47 -- ammunition, a machete, a bullet-proof vest and more than $1,000 in cash.
Three men in the house at the time of the raid were arrested; a warrant has been issued for a fourth suspect.
Frederick Alan Nitzman, 40, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance close to a school. The address at 3017 Amherst Ave. sits between Millwood Avenue and Devine Street and is within three blocks of Dreher High School.
Kevin Allen Fisk, 23, and Bryn Robinson Swaim, 28, were charged with simple possession of marijuana. A warrant was issued for Justin Scott Edwards, 25.

Police were tipped to narcotics activity at the address, a police statement said. When officers arrived they found a quarter-pound of marijuana, 1 ½ grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, more than $1,000 in cash, an AK-47, AR-15, 357 magnum, two 40-caliber pistols, a machete, ammunition and a bullet-proof vest. They also seized what appeared to be an indoor marijuana grow house, they said.
The three suspects arrested Friday were being held at the Alvin S.Glenn Detention Center.
