Myrtle Beach police charge 2 people with prostitution

A Myrtle Beach woman and a Surfside Beach man were arrested early Tuesday on charges of prostitution after officers found them in a parked vehicle behind an Ocean Boulevard motel, according to a police report.

Myrtle Beach police charged Aja Alexis Ann Mincey, 31, of Myrtle Beach with second-offense prostitution, and Carmen George Isella, 49, of Surfside Beach with first-offense prostitution, according to arrest records. Both also were charged with trespassing.

Officers were on routine patrol at 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Red Roof Inn located at 2801 S. Kings Highway when they saw an Isuzu Rodeo stopped in a dark area of the rear parking lot, police said. Officers noted they watched the car for several minutes and the people inside did not appear to be guests of the motel because they did not exit the vehicle.

Mincey and Isella were removed from the vehicle and one of the officers identified Mincey as a known prostitute, but she denied being at the location for prostitution, according to the report. Mincey told police she met Isella at ``a local crack house and wanted to hang out.''

Isella told police they were there for prostitution, but had not agreed on a price because he only had $20 with him, according to the report. Both were taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
