Deputies made an arrest after tens of thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from a home in Blythewood.
A resident who lives on Alumni Lane reported several items of jewelry and electronics were stolen from a bedroom June 5, according to a news release from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The items were valued at about $40,000 and included a diamond necklace, a diamond bracelet and several pairs of bluetooth headphones, the release stated.
Deputies believe Elizabeth Anne Gati, 47, stole the items while cleaning the victim’s home.
Gati is self-employed with TLC Cleaning, which cleans houses in the Midlands.
Gati was charged with grand larceny.
Deputies are investigating other additional thefts that may have occurred, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
Gati was transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Wednesday. Her bond was set at $15,000.
