A man is being treated at an area hospital after he was shot, near Chapin, on Sunday according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Millers Branch Road, in Little Mountain, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, which responded to the incident shortly after 3 p.m.
The man was shot in the upper body, according to the sheriff’s department, which said he then drove away before crashing his vehicle in the 800 block of Westwoods Drive, approximately one mile from the site of the shooting.
The condition of the man – from injuries sustained in the shooting and the crash – wasn’t available, according to the sheriff’s department.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department says it’s not actively searching for suspects but its investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s department wouldn’t say what led up to the shooting.
