Chrome rims worth more than $2,000 were bought with a stolen credit card, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating the suspect.
Lorenzo Strong is wanted for grand larceny, according to the sheriff’s department.
The incident occurred Dec. 11, 2017 at Rent A Wheel in the 5000 block of Two Notch Road, not far from the intersection with Fontaine Road, the sheriff’s department said.
Strong allegedly paid for a set of 26-inch Gazario chrome rims with a stolen credit card, the sheriff’s department reported. Strong called Rent A Wheel and placed the order for the rims totaling $2,460.
The rims were allegedly picked up by Strong’s brother, who was captured on video surveillance.
Strong allegedly called Rent A Wheel back two days later in an attempt to purchase 28-inch rims, but was advised that he needed to come in to the store; Strong immediately hung up the phone, according to the sheriff’s department.
Sheriff Leon Lott described one of the suspects as a large black male, wearing a red knit cap, hoodie, white T-shirt, and jeans, according to a news release.
