Approximately $20,000 worth of meth was seized by law enforcement during a Wednesday raid in Richland County, and three women were arrested.
Richland County residents Christina Powell, 51, Ashley Powell, 29, and Christina Wyatt,33, were each charged with possession and trafficking, according to Richland County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Maria Yturria.
The raid occurred at a residence on Hazelwood Road, just off Garners Ferry Road, said Yturria, adding sheriff’s deputies and DEA agents participated in the raid.
Yturria said law enforcement seized approximately 5 pounds (or 2 kilograms) of ICE, which is the term for pure methamphetamine. The street value of 1 kilogram of ICE is $10,000, Yturria reported.
The raid was the result of an investigation, Yturria said.
Christina Powell, Ashley Powell and Wyatt have been taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
