A suspect accused of shooting a man early Wednesday morning at his home on Barhamville Road was arrested around noon Friday.
Officers located Christopher Keitt, 24, at the Hillendale Apartments at 525 Alcott Drive, around noon Friday, according Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons.
Keitt has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, first degree burglary, grand larceny, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging a firearm into a dwelling and unlawful carrying of a pistol, Timmons said.
Columbia police responded to reports of a shooting at a home near Barhamville Road around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, Timmons said. Investigators believe Keitt was attempting to steal the victim’s car, and the shooting allegedly occurred as the victim tried to run back inside his home.

Keitt then stole the vehicle, a 2007 Chrysler 300 with a South Carolina license plate numbered “FPU-673,” Timmons said. Police found the car Thursday night at a neighborhood at 504 South Beltline Boulevard after receiving a tip.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries, Timmons said.
Charges could be filed against anyone who may have helped Keitt during the police search for him, Timmons said.
