The man charged in an early-morning stabbing on Harbison Boulevard was also the person who was stabbed, according to sheriff's officials.
Austin Christopher Aldridge, 20, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on the 400 block of Harbison Boulevard, according to Capt. Maria Yturria, spokeswoman for the sheriff's department. That's just off Interstate 26 near Parkridge Drive.
Deputies say Aldridge and another man were arguing, and that the argument turned physical. During the physical altercation, Aldridge was stabbed, sheriff's officials said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
Aldridge reportedly started the altercation, deputies said.
He remains jailed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and faces up to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
