Robber demands cash in bag, flees Circle K

Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store last week of cigarettes and cash.

A suspect entered a Circle K at 2308 Augusta Road, West Columbia, Thursday morning and selected a beverage before approaching the sales counter as if he were making a purchase, a news release from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department stated.

Witnesses told deputies the suspect then ordered the store’s clerk to place cash and cigarettes in a bag for him.

The suspect then left the store and drove toward Leaphart Road in a silver vehicle.

Surveillance footage caught the suspect, who was described as a thin, black male in his 20s or early 30s with a shaved head.

He is approximately 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall.

He was wearing gray plaid shorts, a white shirt and black and gray shoes with blue laces at the time of the incident.
