Groundbreaking will be at 8 a.m. Thursday for a new middle school in the Chapin area.
The brief ceremony will be held in the 11000 block of Broad River Road adjoining Spring Hill High School.
The $20.8 million school is set to open in August 2015 with an estimated enrollment of 800.
It will be the fifth middle school for communities along the north shore of Lake Murray.
