Schools locked down following robbery

Lexington Middle and Lexington Elementary were on “lockdown” Monday morning for about an hour because of a robbery at an area business, said Elizabeth Roof, a Lexington 1 spokeswoman.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said Express Check Advance on Columbia Avenue was robbed by an armed man about 10 a.m., but the schools “were never in any danger.”
