Erskine College graduate Kimberly Kanapeckas is conducting research on buffalo in Africa.
Kanapeckas, who graduated with a degree in biology in 2007, has developed the Zambezi Buffalo Project, which allows her to study African buffalo in the Zambezi Valley of Zimbabwe and Mozanbique.
The research is part of her work as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
"To orchestrate this project successfully, I must secure sustained collective cooperation among our biologists, hunting clients and safari operators in remote parts of deepest Africa," Kanapeckas said. "Not an easy task, but one that is remarkably rewarding."
