Coker names new vice president

Gerald O. Silver has been named vice president for business operations at Coker College.

"We're excited to have a person of Jerry's caliber on Coker's leadership team," Coker College president Robert Wyatt said. "He brings to the table a wealth of experience and know-how that is well-suited to Coker's current and future needs."

Silver had served as vice president for finance and administration for The Sage Colleges in New York.

He had worked for The Sage Colleges since 1979. His posts there included controller, treasurer and assistant vice president for finance.

Silver's new role will have him serving as the chief financial officer at Coker, where he will have a range of responsibilities, including oversight of the school's budgeting, endowment, campus construction and infrastructure.
